Our school participated to Telethon, a French fund-raising event. Our pupils walked around the stadium to earn some money. They've been very motivated. Of course CAFFIE was there !
Our project is about understanding each other’s culture and geographical conditions and their effects on us: four seasons, climate and climate change, geographical figures; mountains, plains, water bodies, and natural disasters, agriculture, food, everyday activities. The aim is to know the city we live in very well and share the information with partners and the local community. The countries involved in this project are: Austria, England, Finland, France, Ireland and Catalunya (Spain).

Doing experiments.
In 6th grade of Primary school we've been doing experiments. We have mixed some ingredients and other substances with water: sugar, pepper, ink, oil, mud, etc. and we have realized how easy is to dirty water in our houses and also in big industries.
We need to know that water is a valuable good and we have to take care of it, not wasting it or dirting it!!
Doing these experiments children have realized that there are substances that can be dissolved and seems not to contaminate water, other that color the water and others that keep floating such as oil. All of them have learned that they can't throw liquids or substances in water.

Learning about saving food and water
We have been leanrning about how much food there is in water production. Water is essential for food to grow and to give to the animals that give us food. It has really made us think about the amount of food that is thrown away each day and therefore the amount of water that is wasted. The children in year 6 made some animations to help spread the message. We hope you enjoy reading them.

Green Day at High Lawn Primary, England
We had a 'Green Day' at our school, to make children, staff and parents more aware of how to save energy, different ways of recycling and to raise money to purchase energy-saving resources.
Throughout the school, the children took part in many activities, including:
In addition, we tried to save energy throughout the day by limiting our use of electricity, for example the teachers did not use their laptops or interactive whiteboards, and the children were encouraged to only use lights when necessary. Also, we had a "Green Lunch," where the children were asked to bring their lunch in packaging which could be recycled and leftovers were disposed of in the correct bins.
All the children, staff and parents enjoyed this day and it raised a lot of awareness about our environment. We are going to have 'Green Days' more often!

We are working about recycling
The oldest pupils of the school made this poster about recycling this last term. As you know, we are working this topic and they learned some new things.
Letters from Finland
This term we received some letters from Finland. All the pupils were very happy and now they are preparing theirs.
Teachers think that send letters among different countries is a great experience for children. They learn interesting things from these countries, meet new friends and put in practise English, the language that they are learning.
Thank you Finland!
